Washington: The American newspaper Wall Street Journal has claimed that if Iran does not accept American demands, then Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei may also be targeted.
According to
the report, US President Donald Trump has informed his close advisers that if
Iran refuses to accept American demands, including ending its nuclear program,
he may support a lethal operation against Mojtaba Khamenei.
The Wall
Street Journal says that the possibility of an operation by Israel is being
expressed for this possible operation.
According to
the report, Trump is not happy with the election of Mojtaba Khamenei as Iranian
Supreme Leader and has previously declared him unacceptable. The US President
had stated last week that the new leader in Iran should be acceptable to the
international community.
According to
the Wall Street Journal, Trump has made it clear that if Iran does not end its
nuclear program, he will support action against the Iranian leader, after which
fears of further escalation of tensions in the region are being expressed.
Additionally,
in an interview with Time magazine, President Trump said, "I'm not doing
all this so that we end up with another Khamenei.
