Azerbaijani President Refuses to Send Troops to Gaza

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that his country will not deploy its troops in the Gaza Strip as part of any peacekeeping mission.

In an interview with Azerbaijani television, President Aliyev said that Azerbaijan has no intention of sending any military forces outside its borders, including as part of the proposed international efforts to stabilize Gaza. He added that he is not considering participating in any military operations outside Azerbaijan at all.

President Aliyev also said that Azerbaijan has been in contact with the US administration in this regard and that Azerbaijan had also sent Washington a detailed list of more than 20 questions regarding the modalities of such a mission.
