Islamabad: A prominent businessman lost his life in a
shootout by robbers in a posh area of the federal capital.
According to the police, businessman Amir Awan was seriously
injured in the shooting, died while undergoing treatment. The incident took
place within the limits of Shehzad Town police station where the owner of
Toyota Motors was targeted.
Reacting to the incident, Minister of State for Interior
Talal Chaudhry said that there has been a decrease in overall crime in
Islamabad this year, and that a complete investigation into this serious
incident will be carried out, with all the facts brought to the media.
He added that in the past, such cases of blind murder were
taken to their logical conclusion and the criminals were punished according to
the law. A case of bloody robbery was registered in the area of Shehzad
Town police station. The case was registered on the complaint of the wife of
the deceased Amir Awan.
According to the case, three armed suspects entered the
house in the dark of night and snatched guns, mobile phones and cash from the
guards Arman and Kaleemullah. The suspects locked the guards in a room and kept
them in solitary confinement. After that, the suspects entered the house with
the intention of robbery and opened fire directly on my husband, children, and
guards.
