 ISLAMABAD: The family and close circles of a former Federal Civil Defense officer, Muhammad Muzaffar Siddique, have claimed that he allegedly faced illegal transfers, administrative injustice, dismissal from service and mental torture, after which he fell seriously ill and died before a decision was taken to reinstate his job.

According to the statement, Muhammad Muzaffar Siddique was a Grade 18 senior officer and Deputy Director in the Federal Civil Defense. It has been alleged that he was posted as Lahore Unit Commander from Islamabad, while in his place, a Grade 17 officer was given additional charge as Assistant Director in Islamabad.

It has been further claimed that Muhammad Muzaffar Siddique was allegedly tortured by some officials in the office of the then DG Federal Civil Defense Niaz Muhammad.

In this regard, the names of Amjad Rasheed, Muhammad Haroon Pasha, Mudassar Nawaz and some unknown persons have also been named in the allegations.

The statement said that Muhammad Muzaffar Siddique allegedly challenged the actions of one of the dominating bureaucrats in the Lahore High Court and obtained a decision in his favor. After this, it was also claimed that he was transferred to Abbottabad on grade 16. Later, he was also accused of being removed from the post of Deputy Director during the contempt of court proceedings.

According to the family, Muhammad Muzaffar Siddique was suffering from severe distress due to dismissal from service, continuous legal battle and mental stress. During this time, he was diagnosed with cancer. He also appealed to the Prime Minister and the relevant authorities to restore his job, while his case was under hearing in the Federal Service Tribunal and the hearing was scheduled for the 24th.

It has been claimed that Muhammad Muzaffar Siddique passed away on the 8th before the hearing. The family says that he left this world with the hope of restoring his job.

The statement further alleged that the Prime Minister’s Office sent the matter to the Interior Secretary for review, after which it was handed over to the FIA ​​, and baseless allegations were made to benefit some individuals. However, this claim could not be verified by independent sources either.

The family has demanded that the government conduct a transparent and impartial investigation into the entire matter so that if any administrative abuse or misuse of powers has been committed, those responsible can be identified and justice can be provided to the affected family.
