Once again, the housing society of the Federal Capital is in the headlines, as in the latest move Gulberg Green is going to grab hundreds of kanals of land in Khayaban Kashmir Zone Five, despite the clear opposition of the CDA.
Sources said the matter took a new turn when Chief
Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who also heads both the CDA and
the ICT administration, convened a joint meeting on Friday to review the issue.
During the official gathering, the CDA put its reservation
to the proposed merger. While Circle Registrar Cooperative Societies, Ishtiaq
Ahmed, briefed the Chief Commissioner on the administrative proceedings. After
hearing both sides, the Chief Commissioner endorsed the stance of the CDA and
directed the Circle Registrar to immediately stop the Special General Meeting
of the concerned society.
In all this scenario, the character of Dc Islamabad Irfan
Nawaz Memon is doubtful, which needs clarification by himself.
