Lahore: Important data regarding the educational
qualifications of teachers in government schools in Punjab have come to light.
According to the School Education Department, thousands of
teachers in the province are still performing teaching duties with low
educational qualifications, while a large number are also highly educated
teachers.
According to the data released by the School Education Department
of Punjab, more than 14,000 teachers in government schools in the province have
only matriculation passes.
According to the report, 60 percent of the total teachers
are male, while 40 percent are female teachers who are providing teaching
services in different schools. According to the data, 752 teachers are PhD
degree holders, while more than 9,000 teachers have FA and FSC degrees. Similarly,
40,000 teachers have MPhil degrees, while 62,000 teachers have BA or B.S.Ed.
degrees.
According to the School Education Department, there are more
than 200,000 teachers who have a master's degree, which shows the significant
number of highly educated teaching staff in the province.
Education experts stated that professional training of
teachers, improvement in the quality of education, and adaptation to modern
requirements are the important needs of the hour. If attention is paid to the
training of teachers along with their educational qualifications, the quality
of education in government schools can be significantly improved.
