The Punjab Police has declared all allegations of fake
police encounters on CCD to be false and baseless. The report submitted to the
Lahore High Court claimed that after the establishment of CCD, there was a
clear decrease in incidents of robbery, theft, murder, and banditry.
A written report was submitted on the application regarding
fake police encounters of CCD, on the orders of the Lahore High Court, in which
it is stated that after the establishment of CCD, there was a clear decrease in
crimes, including robbery, theft, murder, and other crimes. In 7 months, CCD’s
operations resulted in a reduction of more than 64 percent in property-related
crimes. A 60 percent reduction was also seen in incidents of robbery and
murder. In the year 2024, 792 incidents of robbery were reported, while in
2025, 324 incidents were reported.
The report claims that the rate of robbery cases has
decreased by 69 percent, incidents of banditry have decreased from 41,000 to
18,608, which is a 62 percent decrease, incidents of vehicle snatching have
decreased by 64 percent, and incidents of car theft have decreased by 60
percent.
The report submitted to the court further states that
motorcycle snatching has decreased from 9,754 to 4,628, a 53 percent decrease.
Cases of robbery with murder have decreased from 170 to 96, which is a 60
percent of decrease.
The written report said that the allegations against CCD are
based on social media rumors, they have no relation to the facts, CCD takes
indiscriminate action against all criminal elements, is bound to take action
against criminal elements according to the law, arrest of the accused,
transparent investigation and prosecution according to legal requirements are
ensured.
The report said that there is a strong accountability and
disciplinary system in Punjab Police, strict legal and departmental action is
taken after a complete inquiry on any violation by any officer.
