Improvement of the health sector in federal capital government’s top priority, and progress on the establishment of a 200-bed modern hospital in Tarlai

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry met Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal, in which they had a detailed discussion regarding the challenges faced by the health sector in the federal capital, ongoing development projects and provision of quality medical facilities to the public.

During the meeting, the performance of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Polyclinic, Federal General Hospital and other federal medical institutions was reviewed. Both ministers considered various measures to improve medical facilities, address patient problems, and enhance the quality of health services.

On this occasion, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that provision of modern and quality medical facilities to the public is among the top priorities of the government and all available resources are being utilized to achieve this goal. Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal also expressed his determination to further accelerate practical steps for reforms and improvement of facilities in the health sector.

The meeting specifically considered the proposed new government hospital project in Tarlai. Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stressed the need to start practical work on the project as soon as possible and requested for the speedy completion of the relevant administrative and development stages. On this occasion, Syed Mustafa Kamal assured that the project would be taken forward on a priority basis so as to ensure the provision of modern medical facilities to the people of the area.

The meeting also reviewed the capacity of the proposed hospital, 200-bed medical facilities, the establishment of various departments and possibilities of expansion in view of future needs. In addition, various aspects of reforms in the federal health system, including increasing hospital capacity, providing modern medical equipment, improving manpower, and implementing patient-friendly policies, were also discussed.

Both leaders reiterated their commitment to continue joint efforts to modernize the health sector in the federal capital and provide the best medical facilities to the citizens.
