Crime statistics have emerged in various capitals of the world during 2025, which make it clear that the crime rate in the capital cities of some world powers remains alarming, while the situation in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, has improved significantly.
According to police records, more than 23,000 crimes were
reported in the US capital of Washington, DC, during the year 2025. These
crimes include about 127 murders, more than 2,000 violent incidents, 1,300
robberies, and thousands of cases of house and vehicle thefts. Although US
authorities claim a decrease in crime, Washington, DC is still one of the
cities with the highest crime rates in the US.
Similarly, the crime situation in the Indian capital Delhi
was also alarming during the year 2025. According to Delhi Police, more than
118,000 cases were registered in the first six months of the year alone, while
about 250 murders were reported. Sexual crimes, robberies, kidnappings, and
street crime in Delhi have continued to be a cause of public concern, making
Delhi one of the most dangerous cities in India.
In comparison, the crime situation in Pakistan's capital
Islamabad, was relatively better during the year 2025. According to Islamabad
Police, a decrease of about 37 percent was recorded in overall crimes, while a
decrease of more than 60 percent was seen in serious crimes.
According to police records, the total number of crimes in
Islamabad in the year 2025 was about 600 less than the previous year, which is a
17 percent decrease in murder cases with 19 percent. In robbery and gang rape
cases. The clear reduction in crimes such as robbery, theft, car theft, and
street crime is being attributed to effective policing and modern technology.
According to experts, the crime rate in Islamabad is not
