Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has announced
a new discovery of oil and gas from the Nishpa block in Kohat district.
According to an OGDC spokesperson, the Bragzai X-1 well is
expected to produce 3,100 barrels of crude oil per day, while the same well
will also be able to produce 8.15 million cubic feet of gas per day.
OGDC says that the crude oil discovered from the Bragzai X-1
well constitutes about 14.5 percent of the country’s total crude oil
production, which is a significant development in the energy sector.
According to the spokesperson, OGDC is continuously crossing
important milestones for promoting national energy security, and this new
discovery will be helpful in increasing energy resources in the country.
