According to the FBR, Pakistan Customs foiled two attempts
to smuggle gold at Jinnah International Airport Karachi, in which 100 tola gold
and 11,900 US dollars were seized.
10 gold bars were recovered in two separate operations, with
a value of Rs 56.82 million. The gold and foreign currency were recovered from
passengers going to Dubai and Istanbul, after which cases have been registered
under the Customs Act, and legal action has been initiated against the accused.
