As per the instructions of the Securities and Exchange
Commission of Pakistan, 88% of licensed companies of the financial sector have
released their annual audited financial statements on the Financial Portal for
Unlisted Companies of the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The financial statements of
these licensed companies are now accessible to the public and can be viewed by
visiting this portal.
In January last year, the SECP had directed all licensed
companies of the financial sector, which are not listed on the Stock Exchange,
to upload their annual audited financial statements on the Financial Portal of
the Pakistan Stock Exchange, so that the financial reports of these companies
are also available to the public. The companies were directed to enter into
agreements with the stock exchange to upload the statements on the Financial
Portal for Unlisted Companies portal.
The availability of financial statements of licensed
companies on the public portal will enhance transparency and improve
stakeholders’ access to information about the companies, which will also
improve the governance system in these institutions. Public availability of
financial statements also helps investors and other stakeholders to better
assess the performance and financial position of the companies.
SECP’s licensed companies include brokers, insurance
companies, non-banking finance companies, Mudaraba companies and other licensed
entities. In compliance with the SECP’s directive, 88% of licensed companies
have uploaded their annual financial statements for 2025 on the Financial
Portal for Unlisted Companies.
In addition, actions are being taken under the relevant
regulatory framework against companies that do not comply with this directive.
SECP is continuously implementing a comprehensive regulatory framework for
transparency, good governance and investor protection in the financial services
sector of Pakistan.
