Iran denies drone attack on Azerbaijan, calls it an Israeli conspiracy

Iran has denied the allegation of a drone attack in Azerbaijan, calling it an ‘Israeli conspiracy.

According to the Media sources, Iran has said that such actions are aimed at damaging relations between Muslim countries.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi denied in a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jehon Bayramov that Iran had fired any projectiles at Azerbaijan. He condemned the attack, saying that ‘the Israeli government has a role in such attacks, which are aimed at misleading public opinion and damaging Iran’s good relations with its neighboring countries.’

Iran’s statement came after Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev accused Iran of ‘terrorism’ on Thursday and threatened retaliation.

Earlier, four people were injured in drone attacks in the Nakhchivan region of Azerbaijan. The incident has raised fears of a further escalation in the ongoing Middle East war.

According to officials, at least four drones were used in the attack, which entered from Iran. The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said the military destroyed one drone while others were trying to target civilian facilities.
