The government announces an increase in diesel and petrol prices by Rs 55 per liter


 Islamabad: The government has announced an increase in the prices of diesel and petrol by Rs 55 per liter.

Addressing a press conference along with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik, Ishaq Dar said that petrol prices are skyrocketing worldwide. He said that the attack on Iran has led to a huge increase in the prices of petroleum products. This week, the price of US crude oil has increased by about 35 percent and Brent by about 28 percent.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that a committee has been formed on the instructions of the Prime Minister, which is continuously reviewing the supply and prices of petroleum products. The Prime Minister has formed a committee under my leadership which is reviewing the prices.

Ishaq Dar said that the increase in oil prices in the international market will have negative effects on the people and various sectors of the economy, the government has decided to increase the prices of petroleum products.

He further said that they are in touch with all different countries so that tensions in the region can be minimized, Pakistan is trying to reduce tensions by bringing friendly countries together, and trying to put the least burden on the people.

 

In this matter, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that petroleum products are increasing every day, a committee was formed on the instructions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the prices of petroleum products are increasing significantly on a daily basis.

He said that energy and Pakistan's economy are interconnected, thank God that we are in a good position with regard to macro stability, the Petroleum Minister has made a lot of efforts with regard to demand management and load management.

Muhammad Aurangzeb further said that on the instructions of the Prime Minister, he will meet the four provincial Chief Ministers and Chief Secretaries in the next two days.

It should be noted that after the government’s increase of Rs 55 per liter, the new price of petrol will be Rs 321.17 and the new price of diesel will be Rs 335.86 per liter.
