US President Donald Trump's appeal for help from around the world, including China, to open the Strait of Hormuz has received a muted response from around the world, and so far no country has announced that it will send ships to the region in response to Trump's appeal.
In this regard, US ally Japan has also refused to send its
ships to the Strait of Hormuz. The policy chief of the Japanese ruling party
said that only after a very high threshold is crossed in the region can
Japanese ships be sent to the Strait of Hormuz. While China has also been
silent on Trump's demand.
Meanwhile, the Chinese embassy in Washington said that China
will play a constructive role by working to improve communication with relevant
parties. The US Secretary of Energy also asked China for assistance.
British Energy Minister Ed Miliband said that we are talking
to the US and other allies to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, and we may send
mine-detecting drones. In addition, South Korea has said that it has read
Trump's appeal and is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East.
It should be noted that France has already refused to send
its ships to the region.
