Islamabad: Pakistan has rejected the baseless, misleading
and unjustified statement of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs regarding
its ongoing operations against the terrorist infrastructure in Afghanistan.
The Foreign Office spokesperson, reacting to the statement
of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, said that in the context of Indian
sponsorship of terrorism against Pakistan from Afghan soil and its historically
destructive role in the region, this statement simply reflects India’s blatant
hypocrisy and double standards.
He said that it is noteworthy that this statement has come
from a country whose leadership is fueling Islamophobia for internal political
interests and is devoid of accountability despite violent incidents against its
Muslim population. A few weeks ago, its leadership announced its full and
unequivocal support for an occupying power that is responsible for the
continuous killing of thousands of innocent Palestinians.
He said that it is extremely ridiculous that a state, which
has historically violated the principles of international law and the UN
Charter and undermined the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its
neighboring countries, should express its concern about upholding these same
principles.
The spokesperson said that such statements cannot divert
attention from the fact that India has suppressed and continuously denied the
right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people in illegally occupied Jammu
and Kashmir in violation of relevant UN resolutions.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said that India
should refrain from supporting and patronizing terrorist groups operating from
Afghan soil, including those listed under the UN Security Council sanctions
regime. In this regard, India should stop unnecessarily whining about
Pakistan’s successful counter-terrorism operations
