Disclosure of Zakat Fund Distribution Between Serving and Retired Government Employees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.


 The audit report for the fiscal year 2025 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has revealed irregularities in the Zakat Fund. The report revealed that Zakat Fund funds were distributed to serving and retired government employees, including those from Grades 1 to 17.

According to the audit report, 317 federal employees and 33 employees from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa withdrew money from the Zakat Fund, 6 employees from Punjab, 5 from Sindh and 3 from Balochistan are also among those who received Zakat.

The report stated that a total of 419 employees received more than 5.3 million rupees from the Zakat Fund, 15 employees received 30, 30 thousand rupees and 404 employees received 12, 12 thousand rupees.

According to the audit report, 2 employees from Grade 17, 2 from Grade 16, and 13 from Grade 15 are also among those who received money.

The audit report states that serving and retired employees were not eligible for subsistence allowance.

In the report, the Auditor General has directed the recovery of all Zakat Fund funds from government employees and take strict action against the members of the Zakat Committee. The audit report also revealed the illegal involvement of government employees in district and local Zakat Committees.

According to the report, making government employees members of the Zakat Committee is a violation of the Zakat Act.

The report stated that Rs 19.7 million was given to undeserving people as subsistence allowance from the Zakat Fund, irregularities of Rs 42 million were revealed in the marriage grant from the Zakat Fund, and a total of 419 employees took Rs 5.3 million as subsistence allowance.

According to the audit report, 111 government employees received allowances as committee members, and 111 government employees were given Rs. 19.5 million in allowances.
