A fresh round of high-level transfers and postings has been carried out within the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), signaling another administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening operational efficiency across key departments. The notification, issued from the office of the Director General FIA in Islamabad on April 30, 2026, outlines immediate changes in leadership roles, particularly at the senior management level.
Among the notable developments, Mr. Abdul Qadir has been relieved of his
responsibilities as Chief of Staff to the Director General FIA. This move
follows directives issued by the Establishment Division, reflecting a broader
alignment with federal administrative decisions. His departure marks the end of
a significant tenure in a role that serves as a critical link between the
Director General and various operational wings.
In a parallel development, Mr. Sikandar Hayat, who was serving as Director
FIA Faisalabad, has been appointed as Chief of Staff to the Director General.
His transition to this influential position indicates trust in his
administrative capabilities and field experience, particularly as the role
demands coordination at the highest level of the agency.
Meanwhile, Mr. Saqib Sultan has been posted as Director for the Faisalabad
Zone. His appointment comes at a time when the region continues to require
focused attention on enforcement and investigation matters, including
counter-terrorism efforts and financial crime monitoring.
Dr. Muhammad Athar Waheed has also been assigned a key role as Director of
the Counter Terrorism Wing (CTW) at FIA Headquarters in Islamabad. In addition
to this responsibility, he has been given the additional charge of overseeing
the Anti-Human Smuggling (AHS) department. This dual assignment underscores the
importance of integrated leadership in tackling interconnected issues such as
terrorism and human trafficking.
The notification confirms that all these changes have been made with the
approval of the Director General FIA and are effective immediately until
further orders. Such reshuffles are often part of routine governance but also
reflect evolving priorities within the agency as it responds to emerging
security and enforcement challenges.
Copies of the notification have been circulated to relevant departments and
officials, including the Auditor General of Pakistan Revenues (AGPR),
additional directors general, and various FIA headquarters divisions, ensuring
that the transition is implemented smoothly across the organization.
