Islamabad: On the instructions of the Director General of FIA,
vigorous operations are underway against hoarding of petroleum products. FIA
Islamabad Zone officers conducted 16 targeted raids in Islamabad and Rawalpindi
divisions.
Key results of the operation:
* 25 thousand liters of petroleum products recovered
* 16 illegal storage and distribution centers were sealed
after identification
The Director General of FIA has issued strict instructions
that no individual or group should be involved in profiteering or overpricing
by hoarding petrol. He clarified that indiscriminate action will be taken
against those violating the law.
FIA Islamabad Zone teams, along with their sister agencies,
OGRA, local administration and other concerned institutions, are conducting
joint operations across Islamabad and Rawalpindi divisions to completely
eradicate hoarding.
The FIA reiterates its commitment that the crackdown
against such elements will continue uninterrupted so that the public is ensured
the supply of petroleum products at government rates and the supply system is
not affected.
