Pakistan decides to repay UAE loan


 Islamabad: Pakistan has decided to repay the United Arab Emirates' loan and the payment will be made this month.

According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, Pakistan will return $2 billion to Abu Dhabi by the end of this month. This amount was available in Pakistan’s account as a safe deposit.

Sources said that Pakistan was paying interest at the rate of 6 percent on this amount. Sources said that the UAE was initially rolling over this amount on an annual basis, in December 2025 this amount was rolled over for one month and then for two months.

Furthermore, the sources added that in view of the current international situation, the UAE had demanded the immediate return of the amount.
