Washington: The sudden announcement of US Navy Secretary
John C. Fallon’s departure from the Pentagon during an important and sensitive
naval operation with Iran is being described as an unexpected and significant
development.
Al Jazeera TV, reporting from Washington, said that this
announcement has come at a time when the US Navy is engaged in important
military operations abroad, including the blockade of Iranian ports.
This decision is also surprising because the leadership of
the Navy is being changed at a time when tensions and military activities are
ongoing in the region. John C. Fallon has now been replaced by Undersecretary
of the Navy Hong Kao as acting secretary.
According to observers, Hong Kao is considered a reliable
choice because he has served in the US Navy for 30 years, while he is said to
have no military service background.
According to analysts, this level of leadership change has
come at a time when the US Navy is engaged in a very important and sensitive
operation on a global scale, which has further increased the importance of this
decision.
