Attempt to make a video with a mobile phone in the ladies' washroom, causing a commotion in Murree Hospital

There was a wave of concern among the citizens of Rawalpindi and Murree when the sad incident of a woman allegedly trying to make a secret video in the famous Farooq Hospital came to light. After the news of the incident came to light, the police took immediate action and registered a case, while the victim’s family has demanded the early arrest and strict punishment of the accused.

According to the details, Abdul Waheed, a resident of Rawalpindi, had been coming to Farooq Hospital in Murree for the past one month for the treatment of his wife. On May 26, 2026, his wife entered the hospital's ladies' washroom to change clothes when she suddenly saw a mobile phone falling from the ventilator above the washroom. According to the woman, an unknown person was allegedly trying to secretly film her.

The accused immediately fled the scene when the woman raised her voice, after which panic spread in the hospital. The victim’s family immediately reported the incident to the police helpline 15, while the police also took immediate action after the news of the incident was broadcast in the media.

According to police sources, FIR No. 290/26 has been registered at the Murree police station under Section 354 of the Pakistan Penal Code, while the investigation of the case has been entrusted to Sub-Inspector Muhammad Bilal Zakir. The police team reached the spot, collected initial evidence and started an investigation from various angles.

Petitioner Abdul Waheed raised an important point in his written application and took the position that the general public is not allowed to access the said washroom area; only hospital staff or specific persons are allowed to go there. On this basis, the victim’s family has expressed suspicion that there may be a possibility of an insider being involved in the incident.

The victim’s family has demanded that the hospital administration immediately hand over the CCTV footage to the police so that the accused can be identified. They say that if the elements involved in such incidents are not severely punished, the private life and safety of women may be further jeopardized.

On the other hand, police officials say that a serious investigation into the incident is underway and in the light of the evidence, the person responsible will be arrested soon and strict action will be taken as per the law.
