A tragic accident has occurred in Iran while demining unexploded American and Israeli bombs dropped during the war, killing 14 members of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).
According to foreign news agencies, the incident occurred
near the Iranian city of Zanjan when security forces were engaged in a demining
operation to clear explosives buried in the ground during the war.
According to Noor News, which is affiliated with Iranian
security agencies, the explosives at the scene included cluster bombs and
aerial mines, which were allegedly dropped by the United States and Israel
during the war but failed to explode.
some of the explosives exploded during the operation,
resulting in the death of 14 members of the Revolutionary Guards on the spot.
After the incident, the area was immediately cordoned off and further search
and clearance operations were launched.
Such unexploded bombs and explosives remain extremely
dangerous for a long time even after the war, and attempts to defuse them often
prove fatal, especially when they are underground or in difficult areas.
It should be noted that this is being described as the first
major casualty since the ceasefire between Iran and the United States, which
makes it clear that, despite the end of the war, weapons and explosives left on
the battlefield still pose a serious threat.
