According to the details, Deputy Collector Qurat-ul-Ain,
posted at Lahore Airport, who was first transferred from Multan Airport on a
complaint of corruption, was made in-charge of Vigilance at Lahore Airport on
the recommendation of the Member custom.
A few days ago, a close relative of DC Qurat-ul-Ain was
bringing liquor from abroad. He was stopped by Superintendent Khalid Siddiqui
on the request of Assistant Collector Amir Hamza, but later the influential
passenger who was bringing liquor was released on the recommendation of a
senior officer of Customs, but Deputy Collector Qurat-ul-Ain complained about
it to Member custom, due to which Superintendent Khalid Siddiqui, who scanned
the passenger's luggage, was suspended from his job.
but despite this, the anger of Deputy Collector Qarat-ul-Ain remained. And after 2 days later, Deputy Collector Qarat-ul-Ain, acting as Deputy Collector Vigilance Airport, raided a foreign flight and arrested 4 smugglers working under the patronage of Assistant Collector Amir Hamza and recovered liquor and other prohibited goods worth crores of rupees from their possession and ordered Superintendent Masood Siddiqui to file an FIR against them and seize other goods.
However, on the request of Assistant Collector Amir Hamza,
Masood Siddiqui released the 4 passengers along with their goods, on which
Deputy Collector Qarat-ul-Ain once again complained to Member custom, on which
Superintendent Masood Siddiqui, Inspector Ahmed Farhan, Sepoy Muhammad and Omar
Javed were dismissed from duty.
In the fight between these two customs officers, the
Collector of Customs, Lahore Airport, who is known for his honesty, has been
left helpless, and Lahore Airport is currently a complete haven for smugglers.
When Deputy Collector Qarat-ul-Ain was contacted in this regard, she said that my informant informed that a heavy consignment of smuggling was coming from a flight coming from abroad, which I raided honestly while doing my duty. When the superintendent released the smuggler and the goods, on the order of the collector, these four customs officials were taken off duty.
