Interior Ministry's big decision: Announcement of arrests of illegal Afghan residents

Islamabad: The Federal Ministry of Interior has decided to further tighten the action against Afghan citizens residing in the country without a valid visa.

According to the Ministry of Interior, from July 10, 2026, all such Afghan citizens who will be residing in Pakistan without a valid visa will be arrested immediately.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Interior has issued formal orders to all provincial governments, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad administrations. The letter has directed that the campaign to arrest and deport illegally residing Afghan citizens should be further intensified.

In addition, the authorities have also been instructed to send a detailed report of the persons arrested and the action taken on a daily basis to the Ministry of Interior.

Furthermore, the letter stated that the regular nationwide action against illegal residence will begin from July 10, 2026, while all relevant institutions have also been instructed to ensure immediate and complete implementation of the orders.
