Islamabad: According to the report of the Bureau of
Statistics, Pakistan’s trade deficit increased to $39.5 billion during the
fiscal year 2025-26, which is the highest level in the last four years.
According to the report, a 22 percent increase was recorded
in the trade deficit compared to the previous fiscal year. During this period,
the country’s imports increased by 19 percent to $69.59 billion, while exports
decreased by 6.2 percent to $30 billion.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, imports increased by
28 percent on an annual basis during June 2026 and their volume was $6.76
billion, while exports decreased by 17.2 percent to $2.23 billion.
The report states that the trade deficit increased by 75
percent to $4.5 billion during June 2026 compared to May 2026.
