A woman who evaded police and stole perfume from a shop in England was given an interesting sentence.

Manchester:A woman who evaded police in England and Wales to steal thousands of pounds perfume ,has been sentenced by a court and banned from entering all John Lewis stores.

According to a BBC report, a woman who is addicted to stealing perfume from shops has been evading police for a year, but she has been banned from John Lewis stores.

The report states that 27-year-old Agita Sika was first arrested in August 2024 when staff spotted her trying to quietly leave the perfume chain’s store in Cheadle, Manchester, with designer perfume.

The woman was due to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court two months later but escaped. She was said to have repeatedly disguised herself before surrendering to Northumbria Police in November 2025.

Agita Sica admitted four offences at Newcastle Magistrates' Court, including stealing more than £2,400 worth of goods over a three-month period.

The court sentenced her to a year's probation for criminal conduct. Greater Manchester Police said Agita Sica's crime was not a one-off incident but a deliberate, systematic, and persistent crime.

Police said that shoplifting is not a crime that can be committed without harming anyone. Manchester Police added that this crime causes significant financial losses to the shopkeeper, affects the shop staff, and leads to increased prices for honest buyers.
