CM Maryam Nawaz approved the plan to divide Lahore into two districts.


 

In recent development, it has been decided that Lahore will be divided into two districts. The Chief Minister of Punjab states that a modern and effective governance model is being introduced for the Provincial Capital.

 The division of Lahore is not a political but a purely administrative necessity. Dividing Lahore into two districts has become inevitable for the sake of public convenience and improved governance. With the formation of two districts, service delivery will be faster, more effective, and closer to the people.

The permanent solution to traffic, encroachments, and local government problems lies in administrative restructuring. Providing immediate relief to the citizens of Lahore is the top priority of the government. The focus of every decision is the convenience of the people and transparent governance. With the formation of two districts, the grievance redressal system will become more effective.

Further, Lahore district has now been divided into 10 tehsils. Under this new division, Harbanspura has been included in Tehsil Shalimar.

While Tehsil Shalimar will include the following additional areas:

3. Bhogiwal

4. Kot Khwaja Saeed

5. Kotli Ghazi

6. Mominpura

7. Madusanpura

8. Mahmood Buti

14. Ghari Shahu

15. Ging

16. Chandis

17. Harbanspura

18. Fort Gujjar Singh

19. Kotli Peer Abdul Rehman

20. Sahwari

21. Salamatpura

22. Tajpura
