In recent development, it has been decided that Lahore will be
divided into two districts. The Chief Minister of Punjab states that a modern
and effective governance model is being introduced for the Provincial Capital.
The division of
Lahore is not a political but a purely administrative necessity. Dividing
Lahore into two districts has become inevitable for the sake of public
convenience and improved governance. With the formation of two districts,
service delivery will be faster, more effective, and closer to the people.
The permanent solution to traffic, encroachments, and local
government problems lies in administrative restructuring. Providing immediate
relief to the citizens of Lahore is the top priority of the government. The
focus of every decision is the convenience of the people and transparent
governance. With the formation of two districts, the grievance redressal system
will become more effective.
