Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Tourism Sardar Yasir
Ilyas Khan Appointment is challenged in the Islamabad High Court.
According to a Writ Petition No. 132/2026, Sardar Yasir Ilyas contends that there is subject like "TOURISM" within legislative and administrative competence of the Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) and the Federal Government respectively under the Constitution.
Similarly, in the Federal Legislative List (FLL), there is
no subject of Tourism allocated to the Federal Government. It is also contended
that it is transgression and fraud on the Constitution. Petitioner also
submitted that there is no provision for appointment of the Coordinators under
the Constitution as well as in the Rules of Business, 1973.
Petitioner while assailing appointment of Sardar Yasir Ilyas
Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Tourism, The Petitioner further
contends that Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on
Tourism is believed to meet Israeli officials whereas Government of Pakistan
has not recognized the State of Israel so far.
The Petitioner also prayed for restraining Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan from performance of his official functions and duties as the Coordinator immediately.Petitioner is expected to be heard tomorrow by a Single Bench of the Islamabad High Court and Dr. G. M. Chaudhry, Advocate, Federal Constitutional Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan will represent the Petitioner before the Court.
