Alleged transfer scandal in IESCO raises questions about the powers of key officers

Islamabad: A case of alleged unusual and arbitrary transfer postings has come to light in the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO). According to sources, important officers were removed from the organization and other employees were appointed to sensitive positions, which is causing concern among both employees and consumers.

Sources said that officers with field experience were removed and assigned to limited or ineffective postings, while some officials considered close were given important posts related to commerce and revenue.

According to sources, questions are also being raised about electricity connections, load adjustments, and metering in plazas across different commercial areas of Islamabad. Facilities were allegedly provided in some plazas against the rules, while common consumers faced difficulties.

According to IESCO insiders, objections have also been raised on transfer orders, file movements, and posting records. It is being said that some decisions were taken on verbal orders rather than institutional policy, the formal approval or notification of which is questionable.
