Lahore: It has been decided to monitor business activities
online across the country.
According to a notification issued by the Federal Board of
Revenue (FBR), an order has been issued to ensure the establishment of point of
sales for online monitoring of more than 14 business activities.
According to the notification, it has been ordered to
install point of sales in hotels, restaurants, guest houses, marriage halls,
marquees and race clubs, however, where there is no air conditioner facility,
there will be an exemption from point of sales.
It has been made mandatory to connect various businesses
including shops, hotels, clubs, hospitals and beauty parlours to the FBR
system.
The notification states that vehicles, couriers and cargo
services operating in cities have also been ordered to set up point of sales.
Similarly, dentists, physiotherapists, plastic and hair surgeons, veterinary
doctors, medical labs, X-ray, CT and MRI scan centers have been ordered to set
up point of sales.
According to the notification, it has been decided to set up
point of sales in beauty parlours, massage centers, pedicure centers and
private hospitals, while hospitals charging a fee of Rs 500 will be exempted.
The notification further states that it has been ordered to
set up point of sales for health clubs, gyms, swimming pools, multi-purpose
clubs, civil and non-civil polo clubs, chartered accountants and cost
management accountants.
According to the notification, it has been decided to set up
point of sales in gyms and clubs in various cities including Lahore, Karachi
and Islamabad, while online integration has also been made mandatory for
retailers, manufacturers and importers.
In addition, point of sales will also be required for
foreign exchange dealers, currency exchange companies, private educational institutions
and vocational training institutes, while institutions charging a monthly fee
of Rs 1,000 will be exempted.
