Islamabad: Pakistan and the United States have officially
started cooperation for the renovation and development of the historic
Roosevelt Hotel in New York.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the two countries.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb from Pakistan and Administrator Edward C.
Forrest from the United States signed the MoU on this occasion. Prime Minister
Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and US Special Representative Steve Wittkoff were also
present on this occasion.
The statement said that a comprehensive framework has been
prepared for the restoration and development of the Roosevelt Hotel, under
which there will be joint cooperation in the operation, renovation and
investment matters of the hotel.
