Quetta: The security situation in Balochistan’s Barkhan
district has once again become tense when unidentified gunmen launched a fierce
attack on the crushing plant (stone crushing plant) of Zarghun Construction
Company.
The attackers first opened fire on the plant and kidnapped
three workers from Musakhel who were present there and took them away.
According to police sources, the attackers also attacked a
police post set up near the plant, snatched the official weapons from three
policemen and fled the scene. The incident took place in a remote area of
Barkhan district where the company was engaged in road construction and
related works.
According to officials, the attackers opened heavy fire on
the plant, causing partial damage to the machinery and suspending the work
process. The three kidnapped workers have been identified as residents of
Musakhel, who were working in the company on a daily basis.
Security forces and police have launched a search operation
in the area immediately after the incident. Levies and Frontier Corps (FC)
teams are also active and the search for the suspects. So far, there has been
no news of the recovery of the abductees or the arrest of the attackers.
