As Ramadan approaches in the capital, tailors start arbitrarily
charging suit stitching rates of up to Rs 3,000.
With the arrival of the month of Ramadan in Islamabad,
tailors have increased the sewing rates dramatically. The prices of suit
stitching in various sectors have started skyrocketing, causing great concern
to the citizens.
At G-11 Markaz, suit stitching is being charged from Rs
2,000 to 3,000, while the same situation is being seen in F-11 as well. In G-12
and F-12, suit stitching has been fixed at Rs 1,500. Similarly, suit stitching
is being charged from Rs 1,500 to 2,000 in the Golra Sharif area as well.
Citizens claimed that, every year before Ramadan, tailors
start charging arbitrary prices, but the district administration pays
insufficient attention to this issue. Public circles have demanded that the
Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad and the relevant administration to take
immediate notice of this situation and take strict action against illegal
profiteering.
