The city administration apparently started a plan to install
e-tags on vehicles to make security more effective. E-tags were pasted inside
the windscreen of vehicles, and while this was suitable for the vehicles, this
plan has not been completed yet.
At the same time, it has now issued an order to install non-standard
paper sticker-type e-tags on the speedometers of motorcycles, which is not only
unsafe but has become a security risk because these sticker-type e-tags are
being installed on open speedometers, which will come off automatically, or any
person will remove them because motorcycles are parked outside in parking lots.
These stickers can also come off due to rain or sun, and
malicious elements can remove these stickers and put it on their motorcycles to
commit mischief. While the police have clearly said that it is the duty of the
citizen to protect the sticker.
If the sticker comes off, then the fee will have to be paid
again and this sticker will have to be installed, otherwise the motorcycle will
have to be confiscated or fined, which raises many questions.
Bikers have to stand in queues and pay a fee of Rs 250 to
get this sticker. If this sticker is not attached to the motorcycle meter, the
motorcycle can be confiscated, a challan can be issued, and even an FIR can be
filed.
Numerous problems can arise for the citizens, but the
administration has only one goal, which is to collect revenue at any cost. To
the extent of vehicles, the citizens have accepted it, but when this sticker
was put on motorcycles, the citizens expressed reservations and appeared
worried.
Any concerned lawyer or citizen should challenge this in
court and make this current illegal or unsafe project of the administration
effective or end it. This is the duty of all of us. The rulers always take the
blood of the people and by making projects that create problems, they take
money from the pockets of the people through various tactics and humiliate them.
The people have appealed and requested the lawyers
participating in this special case to challenge it in court so that all the citizens
and bikers can get rid of this substandard or unsafe motorcycle e-tag.
