The Electric Metro Bus Service Rawalpindi has been embroiled in a serious controversy after 24 employees were dismissed from their jobs for allegedly taking Eid leave.
The affected employees say that they were already working on
low salaries, and they had submitted leave requests as according to rule before
Eid. Despite this, they were dismissed from their jobs upon their return, which
they are calling a complete injustice.
The employees have alleged that the HR department adopted a
cruel attitude and this step was taken without any transparent inquiry. Dozens
of families have been facing severe financial difficulties due to the
dismissal.
Civic and social circles have demanded that the matter be
investigated immediately and justice be provided to the affected employees and
action be taken against those responsible.
Such behavior with the working class on the occasion of Eid
is not only regrettable but also raises questions about the performance of
government projects and the protection of human rights. Citizens have demanded
immediate action from the higher authorities so that justice can be ensured.
