ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Abdel Ati, during which they emphasized promoting mutual trade and investment.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Pakistan and
Egypt reiterated their commitment to further enhance cooperation in various
fields and strengthen brotherly relations. It was agreed to activate the Joint
Ministerial Commission.

increase business ties between Pakistan and Egypt and promote private sector
cooperation. Ishaq Dar also appreciated Egypt's cooperation in the fight
against Hepatitis C.
On this occasion, it was agreed to continue cooperation in
the health sector. The two countries also discussed further strengthening
defense and security cooperation.
The spokesperson said that the situation in the Middle East
was discussed in the meeting, stress was placed on reducing tensions and
resolving the situation through negotiations, and Pakistan’s unwavering support
for the Palestinian people was reiterated.
The meeting strongly condemned the Israeli operations in
Gaza and the West Bank, Ishaq Dar appreciated Egypt’s role in providing
humanitarian assistance to Gaza, and Pakistan and Egypt agreed to continue
close cooperation at international forums including the UN and OIC.
