Meta prepares to lay off thousands of employees

New York: Technology company Meta is reportedly preparing to lay off thousands of its employees.

According to the report, the company is planning to lay off about 20% of its total workforce, which is equivalent to about 16,000 people.

If the report proves to be accurate, it would be the company's largest layoff since 2022, when Meta laid off about 11,000 employees in 2022, while the number reached 10,000 in 2023.

Two senior employees told to the media that the layoffs could begin within a month.
