All hiking trails of the Margalla Hills are closed due to security concerns

As part of security and administrative measures in the federal capital, the District Magistrate of Islamabad has ordered the temporary closure of important hiking trails of Margalla Hills.

As per a notification issued by District Magistrate Irfan Nawaz Memon on April 8, 2026, Trails 2, 3, 4, and 5, and the trail behind Saidpur Village, will be completely closed to the general public on April 9 and 10, 2026.



The notification clarified that this ban will be effective within the limits of the federal capital, and it aims to ensure law and order. Instructions have been issued to the concerned agencies to ensure strict implementation of the orders.

In this regard, Islamabad Police, Capital Development Authority (CDA), District Administration, PEMRA, and other concerned departments have also been directed to remain alert and take necessary steps.

The authorities have appealed to citizens, tourists, and hiking enthusiasts to avoid visiting these trails on the specified dates and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
