Islamabad: On the Prime Minister's instructions, all government transport in Islamabad will be made free for citizens.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the free
transport facility will start from tomorrow, which will continue for the next
30 days. Citizens of the federal capital will be able to travel in government
buses without any fare for a month, Mohsin Naqvi
He said that the Ministry of Interior will bear the expenses
of Rs 350 million for the public relief initiative. The Prime Minister had
ordered to provide immediate relief to citizens in the context of rising
inflation.
Mohsin Naqvi said that orders have been issued to the
district administration and transport authorities to start the free service
from tomorrow.
On the other hand, the government's decision to make
transport free has been welcomed by the public.
