Lahore: After successful negotiations between the Punjab Transport Department and transporters, the Punjab Transport Department has ended the transporters' self-imposed 60 to 65 percent increase.
The Punjab Transport Department has issued a new fare, fares
from Lahore to other cities have been increased by 25 percent, and all bus
stands in Lahore have been ordered to immediately display the new fare.
Lahore to Rawalpindi fare has been increased from 2480 for
executive class to 3100, from 3680 for economy to 4600, from 3800 for first
class to 4750, Lahore to Peshawar executive fare has been increased from 3150
to 3950 rupees, from 4300 to 5400 rupees, Lahore to Sargodha executive fare has
been increased from 1270 to 1600, from 1750 to 2200 rupees, Lahore to
Faisalabad executive fare has been increased from 1270 to 1600, from 1700 to
2150 rupees.
Lahore to Sialkot/Duska executive fare increased from Rs
1150 to Rs 1450, Lahore to Multan executive fare increased from Rs 2200 to Rs
2750, economy from Rs 2800 to Rs 3500, Lahore to Bahawalpur executive fare
increased from Rs 2540 to Rs 3200, economy from Rs 3680 to Rs 4600.
Lahore to Ahmedpur executive fare increased from Rs 2760 to
Rs 3450, economy from Rs 3750 to Rs 4700, Lahore to Swat (Mingora) executive
fare increased from Rs 3240 to Rs 4050, economy from Rs 4540 to Rs 5700, Lahore
to Murree executive fare increased from Rs 3320 to Rs 4150, economy from Rs
4350 to Rs 5450.
Lahore to Taunsa fare has increased from 2940 to 3700 for
executive, 3750 to 4700 for economy, Lahore to Quetta fare has increased from
4480 to 5600 for executive, 5760 to 7200 for economy, 6950 to 8700 for first
class, Lahore to Karachi fare has increased from 7700 to 9650 for executive,
9850 to 12300 for economy, 10950 to 13700 for first class.
The fare for Lahore to Hyderabad has been increased from
7480 to 9350 for executive, 9620 to 12000 for economy, and 10950 to 13700 for
first class. The fare for Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan has been increased from 3270
to 4100 for executive, 4700 to 5900 for economy, and 5580 to 7000 for first
class. The fare for Lahore to Sadiqabad has been increased from 3270 to 4100
for executive, 4700 to 5900 for economy, and 5580 to 7000 for first class.
It should be noted that after the government drastically
increased the prices of petroleum products, the transporters had announced a 65
percent increase in fares.
