Never refused to go to Islamabad for talks: Iranian Foreign Minister

Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has said that Iran has never refused to go to Islamabad for negotiations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, while sharing a video on social media, expressed his gratitude to Pakistan and said that Iran’s position is being misrepresented by the American media. We are grateful for Pakistan’s efforts to mediate.

Abbas Araqchi further said that Iran has never refused to go to Islamabad for talks. He said that he is concerned about the conditions for a final and lasting end to the illegal war. The Iranian Foreign Minister said that the war has been imposed on us. Abbas Araqchi also raised the slogan "Pakistan Zindabad".

It should be remembered that yesterday, the American newspaper, The Washington Post, had claimed in a report that Iran had refused to meet with American officials in Islamabad. The American media report also said that according to mediators, Iran has officially informed that it is not ready to meet with American representatives in Islamabad in the coming days and has declared the US demands unacceptable.

According to the Washington Post, sources said that Turkey and Egypt are still trying to make progress on this issue and alternative venues for negotiations, such as the Qatari capital Doha or the Turkish city of Istanbul, are under consideration, while new proposals are also emerging to end the deadlock.
