China: New technology introduced to generate cheap electricity from salt and mirrors

Beijing: China has made a revolutionary breakthrough in the field of renewable energy by introducing a modern technology to generate cheap electricity with the help of salt and thousands of mirrors.

According to reports, under this project, about 12 thousand mirrors reflect sunlight and focus it on a central tower, the height of which is approximately 80-story building. The large amount of salt inside the tower is heated to 565 degrees Celsius by the intense heat of the sun.

This hot salt is transferred to special safe tanks, where its heat is converted into water and steam, the steam drives a turbine to generate electricity, which is delivered to millions of homes.

According to Chinese officials, more projects of this type are also under construction, which have a total capacity to generate 3 thousand megawatts of electricity. China has set a target of generating 15 thousand megawatts of electricity through this technology by 2030.

Experts say that an important feature of this system is that salt retains heat for a long time, due to which electricity generation can continue for about 11 hours even after sunset, while ordinary lithium batteries provide backup for a limited period.

According to the report, China is investing heavily in clean energy projects and is trying to reduce its dependence on oil and gas through this technology. If such projects are started in the desert areas of Pakistan, new opportunities for cheap and alternative energy can be created in the country.
