Renowned actress Danair Mubeen has termed it unfair to compare her upcoming film ‘Mera Lyari’ with any other film. During the promotion of the film in the UK, Danair Mubeen reacted to the comparison of ‘Mera Lyari’ with the Indian film Dhirendra and said that it is not right to compare it with any film.
According to her, it is unfair to compare this film with any
other film. The basic idea of ‘Mera Lyari’ is unique, which highlights topics
like sports, South Asian women’s participation in sports and women’s football
culture in Lyari. The actress further said that it cannot be compared with any
other film, but rather the hard work of the team should be appreciated by
looking at it in a broader perspective.
She also said that this film presents a beautiful picture of
Lyari and it must be seen and appreciated.
It is worth noting that the film has been selected for the
UK Asian Film Festival 2026 where it premiered on May 2, while it will be
released in cinemas across the country on May 8, 2026.
The film presents a realistic picture of Lyari and
especially highlights the young talent there.
