Mumbai: This time, the Indian representation at the Met Gala garnered global attention in an unusual way, where Isha Ambani's unique sari made of gold threads was one of the most prominent highlights of the event.
The theme of this year’s event, held at the Metropolitan
Museum of Art, was ‘Costume Art’, under which designers presented clothing as a
complete work of art rather than just fashion. Isha Ambani wore a special
sari created by renowned Indian designer Gaurav Gupta, which is being described
as a beautiful blend of traditional Indian craftsmanship and modern aesthetics.
According to reports, more than 50 skilled craftsmen
participated in the preparation of this unique sari, while about 1200 hours
were spent on its completion. The dress used pure gold threads and its design
was inspired by fresco art and harmonized with modern fashion.
This masterpiece was not just a dress but also a reflection
of Indian cultural heritage, craftsmanship and royal tradition. Isha Ambani
also wore precious jewelry from her mother Nita Ambani with it, which made her
personality look even more magnificent.
This year, the Indian presence at the Met Gala was not
limited to film stars, but also included business figures, social leaders and
other prominent figures.
Karan Johar attended the Met Gala for the first time, where
her dress combined history and modernity with Indian painting and exquisite
zari work.
At the same event, Natasha Poonawalla, Ananya Birla, Sudha
Reddy and other prominent Indian personalities also highlighted Indian culture,
tradition, technology and art on the global stage through their unique
costumes.
