Andhra Pradesh: It has been announced to give a cash reward to parents on the birth of their third and fourth child in India.
According
to Indian media reports, the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Andhra
Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has announced to give a cash reward on the birth
of children to stop the declining population rate in the state.N. Chandrababu
Naidu said that now is the time for society to work together to increase the
birth rate, the government will announce more details within a month.
The
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh said that I have taken a new decision, we will
give Rs 30,000 to the parents on the birth of a third child and Rs 40,000 on
the birth of a fourth child.

Chandrababu Naidu's announcement comes after his earlier proposal to give Rs
25,000 on the birth of a second child. On March 5, 2026, he informed the
Assembly that the state government was considering giving a cash reward to
couples on the birth of a second child.
However,
state Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav later said that the government has
decided to extend the scope to families having a third and more children. N
Chandrababu Naidu further said that with the increase in income, some couples
are preferring to have only one child, while other couples are having a second
child only if their first child is not adult yet.
He
warned that the population growth rate in the state is slowing down, and the
population remains stable only when the average birth rate per woman is 2.1 children.
