Anti-corruption crackdown across Punjab, several government employees arrested while taking bribes

Anti-corruption operations in different districts of Punjab arrested several government employees red-handed on charges of taking bribes. According to details, Union Council Secretary Muhammad Suleman in Chishtian was arrested while taking a bribe from a citizen in exchange for issuing a birth certificate.

In Jampur, Security Constable Hafeezullah, in charge of Police Station Jampur, was taken into custody while accepting a bribe from a citizen.

Similarly, Kafeel Shahzad, an employee of the Municipal Committee in Haroonabad, Bahawalnagar District, was arrested while taking a bribe from a citizen. In Sahiwal, Qanoongo Muhammad Ashfaq and his secretary Afzal Ahmed were also arrested red-handed on charges of taking bribe from a citizen.

ASI Noor Muhammad of Patrolling Police posted at Shaheed Chowk in Haroonabad was also arrested while accepting a bribe.

Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Amanat Ali of Chochak police station in Okara was also arrested while accepting a bribe from a citizen. According to anti-corruption officials, operations against taking bribes from citizens and misuse of authority will continue, and strict action will be taken against the elements involved in corruption as per the law.
