 Rawalpindi: DG ISPR has said that good governance is of fundamental importance for Pakistan’s security and national stability, while improvement in the administrative system is indispensable for effective resolution of problems.

During the press briefing on counter-terrorism and security issues, a journalist asked about Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s statement on creating new provinces or administrative units, to which DG ISPR said that this is Mohsin Naqvi’s personal opinion. I do not want to comment on it, but I will still say this much: good governance is indispensable for Pakistan’s stability and security.

He said that in 1972, Pakistan’s population was about 70 to 80 million, which has now increased to 250 million, while the administrative structure still consists of four provinces. In this situation, there is a need to think according to new requirements.

The spokesperson of the Pakistan Army said that without good governance, national problems cannot be solved. If an administrative reset is needed for effective governance, then it should be considered.

The DG ISPR further said that according to the constitution, the opinion of the people should be given importance to solve problems. If the people are satisfied with the current governance, then this is a positive thing, but if they are not satisfied, then a decision should be made according to the constitutional procedure.

It should be noted that while addressing Pakistan's first Economic Summit Conference yesterday, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also said that the system we are living in has collapsed. Believe it or not, we all want democracy and are big supporters of democracy. There are three or four systems within democracy.

Mohsin Naqvi said that reforms in the system are necessary to solve problems. Those who run the political system are also present in this hall and those who fund the political system are also sitting here. Some provide funding under some compulsion and some under some compulsion. The day you people decide, this system will be fixed. Not everything is bad in this system.
