Islamabad High Court sets hearing of departmental inquiry case against former DG NCCI Waqaruddin Syed

The Islamabad High Court has set July 21 for hearing the petition regarding departmental inquiry against former Director General, National Cyber ​​Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Waqaruddin Syed. Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court Justice Sarfaraz Dogar will hear the petition. The court has issued notices to the Establishment Division and the Interior Ministry and sought a detailed report from them.

In its interim order, the court has restrained the relevant authorities from taking any disciplinary action against the petitioner Waqaruddin Syed, while instructions have also been issued to the law officer for judicial assistance.

It may be recalled that the Establishment Division had issued a charge sheet and details of the allegations against Waqaruddin Syed on June 3, 2026, which the petitioner has challenged in the court. Now the Islamabad High Court will review the matter and hold a hearing in the light of the parties' positions and relevant records.
