Cairo: The Egyptian Darul Ifta has banned the use of artificial intelligence applications for the interpretation of the Holy Quran.
According to Arab media, the Egyptian Darul Ifta says that
relying on artificial intelligence applications is prohibited by Sharia law.
The Darul Ifta says that not relying on authentic sources
risks spreading misleading information and creating misunderstandings. For the
interpretation of the verses of the Holy Quran, authentic interpretations,
reliable interpreters, and religious institutions should be consulted.
According to Arab media, artificial intelligence
applications also include ChatGPT. The fatwa of the Egyptian Darul Ifta was
issued in response to a question from a questioner.
